Meet The Face Behind InDepth Vision

Hello, I’m Dr. Laura Cookson, the proud owner of InDepth Vision.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

My journey began after I graduated with honors from The University of Guelph with a degree in Nutritional and Nutraceutical Sciences. I then received my Doctor of Optometry degree, with honors, from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry And Vision Science.

I started practicing Optometry back in 2011 and offering vision therapy in 2012. Seeing a demand for these services and how vision therapy and rehabilitation can improve people’s lives. I decided to branch out independently, establishing InDepth Vision in 2016.

Since opening my practice, I have expanded. We started with one optometrist and one vision therapist and have now doubled that. We additionally offer a more comprehensive range of products and specialty services for our patients, such as myopia control, optometric syntonic phototherapy (photobiomodulation), etc.

Why I’ve been successful

As an individual, I believe what sets me apart is I enjoy getting to know my patients and strive to help them achieve their goals.

The most rewarding part of my job is seeing my patients reach their potential; whether it be a child who was struggling to read and falling behind in school suddenly being able to read effortlessly and discover the joy of reading, or an adult who suffered a concussion who is now able to return to work and watch their child’s soccer game. Our mission is to improve lives. So, when our patients can enjoy life more fully and comfortably, that is all the thanks we need.

During my downtime

When I am not at work, I have a few different interests. I most of all enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also like baking with my daughter, gardening, and swimming.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
